Danville Trip

My posting these days has mostly been limited to really big events, or i just feel like i need to post something since i havent posted anything in awhile. This post, however, happens to be a really big event! we met halfway between our houses in Danville to see kim's dad race. Kim and i met about 11am at a hotel in danville and then i drove us both to the raceway. it was actaully kinda exciting to see bro. waters race! he did pretty good from what i gather, since he placed highly overall and in his class of cars. unforunately, i dont have any good picture to post yet, so i just posted some i had of me and kim last time she came to my house! i look kinda goofy, but honestly, with pictures of me and kim, who ever looks at the pictures to see me? :) kim and i also pitched a little bit in between races, as well as fighting off the biting cold! part of the day i braved the cold with nothing but a polo on! as the sun went down it started getting really cold, even for me, so i caved in and put on my hoodie, so it worked out! overall, i cant really describe it as well as i would like...its hard for me to really convey what kind of time i had...but believe me...it was...good...oh yeah, random, but in other news, i got a speaking assignment on the first vision while i was in danville! i got a call on my cellphone from a number i didnt recognize, but it turned out to be bro. yeoman, who gave me a speaking assignment for the next fireside on the first vision. Ironically, today i got another speaking assignment for the sunday after the fireside on honesty! it could be a couple of busy weeks! but i do enjoy speaking and teaching others, i dont know how well i do, but i still enjoy it! oh yeah, and lastly, ive got some blood work at the hospital to do tommorow, so everyone wish me luck with that, im not really looking forward to it, but i just want to get it over with! anyway, tahts all for today, and kim...good luck with school the next couple of days...ill say a prayer for ya!

Senior Night Soccer!

Yes, the day has finally come...sad though it may be. i played my final soccer match in my home Wallace Shelton Stadium. it surpirsed me how nervous i was about the game, eventhough it was one of the easiest teams in the conference. well, needless to say, we beat them 6-2, even with utilizing a new defense at the end of the game called "watch the other team shoot on our goalie" it was pretty effective and we only allowed two goals with this new prototype defense...lol! it was sad to know that my senior soccer season has actually come to a close. but on the plus side, what a way to go out, in front of one of the biggest home crowds in my enitre soccer career. overall it was one aweosme night! i also included some pics of me after the west wilkes game, which was another aweosme game, since we beat the team with the best goalie in 1-a state conference. next week we play elkin tuesday and then east wilkes wed. if we win either of those game, we are almost guaranteed a spot in the conference tournament, which hasnt happened to MA soccer since my freshmen year. anyway, wish the team luck (and me) and keep it real!

Dating and Grounding

Well its been an exciting week everyone! its been quite awhile since i last posted, in which i described the dreaded process of standardized test taking! anyway, quite alot has happened since then! ill start off with a few of the minor highlights, like beating the 2nd best team in the conf. 5-2! it was one aweosme game! everyone was soo stoked! which is ironic since we actually played south stokes! it was an aweosme game, especially with my crazy soccer moves (while being sick). school is the same as always, and life goes on. Anyway, from the pictures below, as well as the title, you can probably guess the subject of this post. yep, friday night me and shaylon went on a double date with sydney and kelsey. most of the pictures were from before the game in a local wal-mart. me and shaylon each bought a disposable camera, then sydney and kelsey each got to pick out two outfits for me and shaylon to try on. i didnt post the pictures, but let it suffice to say spaghetti straps arent my style! and a purple hat really doesnt go so well with shaylon either! after we did that, we just took goofy pictures from around wal-mart like the four of us trying on some crazy haloween costumes. this one lady in wal-mart was following us while we "cross-dressed!" it was hilarious because she even asked me why i was trying on girls clothes and i just responed (with a slight lisp) "i just like the style!" it was sooo hilarious! after the wal-mart incident we headed to the game to watch the "war eagles" beat whoever the other team was 37-24. it wasnt quite as exciting as seeing one of my own football games, but it was still cool. after the game we went to kelseys house and watched the grudge. it actually wasnt as scary as i thought, and was kind of an interesting movie. the plot was crazy and kept u guessing almost the whole time. however, a warning to the faint of heart, it was pretty scary/intenese, but with no real bloody or gory scenes, just scary music and people jumping out of nowhere! after the movie, i lost repeatedly in fuesball, until kelsey joined my team as we dominated shaylon and sydney! and to wrap up the night we played a little ping pong, where no one actually won! sydney had some dominating serves, but when i pulled out my chinese ping pong skills, the game was over! actually not really, but it was still pretty fun. thats really about all that we did, and let it suffice to say that my parents werent thrilled with me coming home a little late. in the end we had a talk and i think ill be more careful with curefew and such. in the end, its all good! well im out for the night, as i must finish my calculus homework (that stuff is like the plague, but the plague eventually died out...calculus doesnt!) eveyrone have a great night, and i will try to stay a little more up to date with blog posting from now on, as well as commenting more often on others blogs! eveyrone have a great sunday, and keep it real!

Great Quotes

This should be a quick post today, but i wanted to see what everyones favorite quote is. I've included some of my favorite quotes below. Some are scriptures and others quotations, so hopefully there are some good ones in the mix! Enjoy the quotes!

“The heights by great men reached and kept were not obtained by sudden flight. But they, while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night.”
-Thomas S. Monson

“Yea, verily, verily I say unto you, if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men.”
-Alma 48:17

“And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.”
-2 Nephi 25:26

“And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.”
-Ether 12:27

“Love is when one person loves the qualities that the other person hates about themselves”
-Kim W.

“To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides.”
- David Viscott

“Never live in the past but always learn from it.”
- unknown

“And in the end it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.” - Abraham Lincoln

“The bravest are the tenderest. The loving are the daring.”
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

“We live by admiration, hope and love.”
-William Wordsworth

Better Late Than Never

Better late than never, that my attitude toward posting! my blog has slowly transformed from an constantly updated journal to a picture book journal updated fairly randomly. anyway, i just wanted to give a quick update on my SATs this morning. ive officially decided i...strongly dislike standardized testing! how boring is it to sit in a room for 5 hours taking just a dumb old test! i actually think i liked the ACT better. i had less time on the ACT, but the SAT had some of the most retarded questions ever! the bad thing about the SAT was that some of the problems were just random thinking questions. you know, who really cares how many one and two pound bread loaves your carying in a truck if it weighs forty pounds and the bread loaves weigh a combind total of 24lbs. that should come in pretty handy, wait, ive got a solution....COUNT THEM. cant tell the difference? well...my guess is that the 2lbs. loaves are bigger than the 1lb. loaves. dude, im seriously a math revolutionary! some would argue that these problems teach important solving skills that are applicable in other situations, but it's still a dumb problem! the essay was pretty good, and again i think i nailed that part. on my last SAT i didnt do really well on my essay, i didnt finish it and plus i totally zoned out during that part and couldnt concentrate for some reason. this time i think my only mistake was writing too much, i shouldve left out my second body paragraph, but i finished out with a banging conclusion, so im hoping that will boost my score! thats about all thats going on right now, ive got church meetings tommorow, so it could be a long day, but hopefully ill be able to keep the posts coming! sinara everyone, and remember, stay away from those standardized tests!

Taking A Break

Those in the blogger world may have noticed my recent abscence from the land of blogs and what not. Not to make excuses, but so much has happened over the past (nearly) week! Between school, dates, soccer, and family, i'm still trying to schedule some breathing time on my calendar! anyway, ill start with some of the events of the past week and give a brief synopsis of "whats up." i cant remember exactly where i posted last, but ill tell a quick story about my last soccer game. it stunk and i dont like loosing. story over. thats about how i felt last thursday when we lost to bishop mcguiness (a private catholic school) 5-0. i consoled myself by quietly reminding myself that theyll get their just reward in the afterlife! im just kidding around...but still, i was just depressed after such a terrible loss! it stunk since last time we played them, we tied them before loosing in overtime. this game was just a shutout! however, probably what everyone is dying to hear about is this weekend! (well, at the veyr least, im excited about telling it). i went up to kims for a weekend and got to hang out with her...plus gen. conf. with her dad, which was cool of course! i had a really aweosme time, and me and kim mostly played around at a park, while pitching some, playing soccer (which kims knuckle ball is just aweosme) and of course good ole' basketball! kim def. showed me up in soccer, while i beat her in basketball (complete luck...im not exactly sure how i won that game), and of course pitching is just fun. after we did that we got to play on the play ground! it brought back the great memories of the crazy days of recess and such! overall, i had one awesome weekend! i wish i could type more...but ive got hw to do, as well as a game tonight vs. east surry! to sum up, i just cant wait to see kim again...which in case anyone wants to mark their calendar...it should be towards the end of october...and as much as i miss her...i guess ill just have to wait a month...lol! anyway...eveyrone have a great night, take it easy, and enjoy yourselves!
